Catacombs of Sousse

from $18.00

This is another Catacomb inspired design, and that image is actually from a mosaic within the catacomb of Sousse in Tunisia. Where the heck is that? North Africa—between Algeria and Libya, right below Italy. The North African Christians deliberated an allegorical method of Biblical exegesis. But what’s remarkable about this 4th century work is that, characteristic of the early Christian Church, being always under the thwart of persecution, it uses symbols to safely conceal their identity. The Anchor creates a cross, but not explicitly. And the early Church, following the acts of the Apostles were indeed rigorous and brave fishers of men. From my reading of the history of the Church, you could count more early fathers and other saints who died a martyrs death than you could for those who died peacefully.

This t-shirt is everything you've dreamed of and more. It feels soft and lightweight, with the right amount of stretch. It's comfortable and flattering for all.

• 100% combed and ring-spun cotton (Heather colors contain polyester)
• Fabric weight: 4.2 oz./yd.² (142 g/m²)
• Pre-shrunk fabric
• Side-seamed construction
• Shoulder-to-shoulder taping
• Blank product sourced from Nicaragua, Mexico, Honduras, or the US

This product is made especially for you as soon as you place an order, which is why it takes us a bit longer to deliver it to you. Making products on demand instead of in bulk helps reduce overproduction, so thank you for making thoughtful purchasing decisions!
